About

Dr Anthony Ordman Consultant in Pain Medicine

Dr Anthony Ordman is a senior, full-time specialist in Pain Medicine. He founded the Royal Free’s Pain Management Service in 1997, with its highly-regarded Chronic Pain Clinic and  specialist multidisciplinary team designed to help patients with pain, and the associated difficulties it can bring. He also set up the Royal Free Hospital’s Acute Pain Service to help those suffering with post-surgical and trauma pain.

Anthony Ordman is now in private Pain Management practice at London’s Wellington Hospital group. He is Lead Consultant in the Wellington’s unique Pain Functional Restoration Program (Pain FRP) for pain treatment and rehabilitation after injury or serious illness.

Anthony firmly believes that an individualised, patient-centred approach is important for each and every person, and understands the low mood and exhaustion that long-term pain can so often bring about.

Dr Anthony Ordman has many years of experience looking after patients with pain across a wide variety conditions, including spinal, musculoskeletal and nerve pain, post-surgical and trauma pain, and some cancer-related pain. He has a special interest in complex regional pain syndrome, on which he has published, post-herpetic neuralgia (shingles), pancreatic pain, and sciatica after spinal surgery.  He is one of the UK’s few practitioners of the Racz catheter neurolysis technique, a minimally-invasive treatment for persistent sciatica after spinal surgery.  https://www.britishpainsociety.org/static/uploads/resources/files/PAN_114_web_low_res_Dec_13.pdf  pages 255 to 258

He also has very many years of experience in carrying out all the standard interventional pain relief techniques such as epidurals and nerve blocks, and Dr Ordman also specialises in coeliac plexus block for pancreatic pain, and other painful abdominal and hepatobiliary conditions.

Expert in the use of specialist pain medications, and often at the forefront of identifying new substances to help with pain, Anthony Ordman is now experienced in the use of the newly-legal cannabis-based medicines, and he is Senior Medical Consultant and Lead Clinician to Integro Medical Clinics Ltd.     https://www.integroclinics.com/

Dr Ordman was appointed Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians for his contribution to pain medicine, and is Past President of the Pain Medicine Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.  He continues to teach Pain Medicine, and to lecture on specialist pain medicine topics.

He loves music, and singing, and is delighted, therefore, to have be an Honorary Medical Advisor and Consultant in Pain Medicine to the Royal Society of Musicians, and an Assessing Physician and Medical Committee member at BAPAM, The British Association of Performing Arts Medicine.
